Daily House Chores
Being adults we are responsible for a lot of things regarding our wellbeing and even family if we start to build our own. For parents, the daily routine will be much more hectic compared to those living alone and for those living in a house, we also need to deal with lots more cleaning compared to those that prefer to have an apartment. It all comes to your lifestyle as we need to adjust everything to fit what’s best for our house and habit.
House chores are probably one of the most energy consuming activities we have to allocate times every day or every weekend but it is necessary to keep your house or living space clean, comfortable, and conducive to have activities or relaxing and resting. None of us want to sleep with a plastic bag full of garbage or comfortable sitting on a chair where dust and debris are not vacuumed from for weeks or even months. When it comes to comfort, clean space is always the best.
But, have you wondered how many times we should do the cleaning because it seems people have their own preferred time to complete these tasks. It is actually because every house and owner has their own specific needs which decide how often they have to deal with the dust, debris, or dirt. For example, dusting is not something we often do; probably only once a week but those families with allergies will have to do it much often such as every other day or every day.
Another basic and crucial part of keeping your house clean is vacuuming and this is very important because the appliance will lift the dust, debris, and similar mess from any possible surface of your house. Vacuuming is also convenient depending on what type of flooring and surface you are dealing with. The basic rule is to do it more often in the area with higher traffic and this can range from everyday to at least twice a week, especially on the carpeted floors.
Hard flooring may not need a special effort to clean but soft carpet will require more patience to properly remove all the small particles. The last part is mopping and we personally do this one less often than any other cleaning routine. In most cases we only do it once or the most often twice a week. Mopping is necessary if you have pets and kids because they will create mess and to make sure the floor is clean enough for them to lay or play around.
About Dyson V8 and V11
Animals and kids are the main reason to clean more because they can be quite messy and for animals especially, if you have dogs or cats with thick coats and sheds a lot, we will definitely need to vacuum almost everyday to prevent those furs from sticking on your clothes. However, just like human hair, animal furs are sticky and can be very difficult to clean as they are often stuck on fabrics hence we also use lint roller or sometimes tape to deep clean the surface.
To answer the concern of pet owners, vacuum cleaner brands are designing units that are claimed to be ideal for the application and mostly have certain moving parts to brush the surface combined with a more powerful motor for better suction. One of them is Dyson and we are sure the majority of us are already familiar with this brand. They are very popular when it comes to highly reliable vacuum cleaners and the reason why their products are more expensive is because we always can rely on them.
Dyson also have the vacuum models that are designed for pet owners which usually are not very different from their regular vacuum but do have slight differences, mostly on the feature part and among the latest they have Dyson V8 and V11, both available in animal variants. In between there is V10 actually but many are aiming to replace their V8 with the new model which is about twice its price in comparison but, we are sure if you like the older vacuum then this new model will also be amazing.
What we are not really a fan of is Dyson don’t let the newer vacuum to be backward compatible with their older accessories which makes you have to spend more despite still having the previous around and working perfectly so if you have V8 and its accessories, they won’t fit on V11. As an improvement, Dyson seems to upgrade the suction power of V11 to make it stronger and more reliable yet, it also still carries some of the minus from the previous vacuum. Dyson V8 and V11 Design
If you have at least one of their stick vacuums, both Dyson V8 and V11 are probably going to look like those models both on the design and on the fashion options because while they do have other shades, when looking at combinations of purple and silver our mind instantly recalls Dyson vacuums. These two carry the same taste but different in details especially when you look at their dust bin because the former is horizontally placed after the motor while the latter is vertically installed.
This change does make the design as stick vacuum even more streamlined but in comparison V11 is actually slightly bigger and feels heavier than V8. The long hose also now painted purple instead of silver and what’s very prominent is now the V11 has an LCD screen on top of the vacuum trigger which shows you information regarding the battery and cleaning mode. The Dyson V8 and V11 animal version and their regular version are very much alike but the animal versions have roller brush or attachments.
Dyson V8 and V11 Performance
The first point you want to know about these vacuums must be their power suction because this is what is most important in a vacuum cleaner. The older V8 has 15 cyclone system as opposed to the 14 cyclone of V11 but when it comes to real-life application, the newer vacuum performs much better, you can feel this model is improved in power and will take more dust or debris from the surface which helps you to reduce the time from going back and repeat the certain area.
Another prominent improvement is on how it keeps the dust inside as well because many users of V8 have complained about how their vacuum throws strong air but also some of the small particles outside again. This is also improved on V11 because Dyson uses the fully-sealed filtration system which is claimed to trap 99.99% of particles as small as 0.3 microns to expel only clean air to your room. What’s not improved but we wished they did is locking function.
Just like any stick vacuum, both Dyson V8 and V11 are activated using a trigger and while this is convenient, we do hope they finally put a lock in V11 because it can be pretty tiring to press the trigger all the time especially if you are doing a wider area.
Dyson V8 and V11 Features
Next is their features and our favorite is you can transform both of these models into a handheld vacuum which is great as you can deal with more space including the interior of vehicles, pet beds, stairs, or furniture that need to be cleaned as well. As it has been mentioned above, the V11 has this small LCD at the top of the vacuum which shows the battery and cleaning mode that is available in three settings instead of two like V8.
Dyson V8 and V11 Battery
The last part we want to talk about is their battery because this was an issue in V8 as it is difficult to deal with more space without having to recharge the vacuum in between cleaning. The V11 is not the longest lasting stick vacuum out there but the battery is indeed improved or larger than its predecessor so now you can clean up to 60 minutes in comparison to only 40 minutes. But, these are not fixed numbers or highly vary based on your cleaning mode, surface, and attachment.
Dyson V8 vs V11
These vacuums are great for pet owners because of the available rolling brush which makes the cleaning even more effective but, in comparison the V11 is overall an improvement over the V8. This vacuum has better suction power to deal with more dirt, debris, and furs or animal hairs but also run longer with some features not available on the previous model such as LCD screen and more cleaning mode.
All in all we can go with any of them as there is no bad option between the two but, if your budget allows, we highly recommend to pick Dyson V11 because it is more powerful and chances are it will make your cleaning more time efficient.
